I’m not going to go quite as far as Dangerous did in 2019 with an Excel spreadsheet etc! However, there is some reasoning for the songs I have chosen such as…
- La Poison, Texas, Jamiroquai, Kool and the Gang, Franz Ferdinand – all great acts that we’ve seen on the main stage in the years since I’ve been coming. I’ve also added a few Stranglers tracks for this year’s mix.
- Various car/driving-related tracks such as Convoy, Cars, Cars and Girls, Race for the Prize, Have Love Will Travel, Little Red Corvette (shame it wasn’t a yellow one), Autobahn, Lonesome Loser, Take the Long Way Home etc…
- In the City (Madness) – used to be used for a Honda advert back in the 80’s for those that remember. Honda, Honda, Honda, Honda…Ciiiiiiiiiiity!
- Cherchez la Femme – certainly seems to have been one of the main activities for the single male attendees over the years
- Dark and Long – purely because it’s a banging tune and great for driving
- No Sleep Till Brooklyn – should be changed to Honfleur
- Money (That’s What I Want) – specifically for me when eyeing up the latest Corvette
- Rabbit – anyone else start looking forward to peace and quiet on the drive home? Or is it just me??
- Go Your Own Way – for those that can’t follow a sat nav (or Pete)
- Le Touquet Juillet 1925 – I love this song!
- Couple of songs called Honfleur! I spent awhile listening to quite a few and chose the two I liked best.
- Big Log – stage fright. I’m saying no more…
- One Too Many – there’s always one.
